Supporting Parents Of Children with Cleft Lip

What should I do if I would like to take part in the study?

Before you decide whether you would like to take part, please read the information provided here carefully. You might also want to discuss taking part with your partner, family, midwife, clinical nurse specialist or GP. Once you have read through all of the information and you feel that the study might be suitable for you and your baby please inform a member of your specialist cleft care team, for example, your clinical nurse specialist, and then someone from the research team will contact you shortly after that. Alternatively, you could telephone our research coordinator, Elizabeth Rapa, or email her.

Once the research team receives your contact information, they will contact you by telephone and will explain the study in more detail, and be able to answer any questions you might have. This also gives us a chance to check that the study would be workable for you (e.g. that you are not moving away within the next few months). At this point, if it is felt that this study might be suitable for you, we will arrange the first home visit for when your baby is about a week old.
